A rustic wedding at the Fluvarium

The couple's friends had gotten together to add most of the decor but we added finishing touches as well as the chair covers.  The chair covers were ivory satin universal style that fit the chairs at the Fluvarium so well.

Becky and John, The Royal Canadian Legion Pleasantville

Becky and John picked royal blue, sunflower and gold as their colours with a slight travel/geography theme for their wedding reception.  The tables were dressed in white, with royal blue table runners.  The centerpieces were composed of 3 gold wine bottles with sunflowers with accent candles.  The background of the table numbers was an antique map.  The head table was dressed in gold sequin tablecloths, and framed with a backdrop and blue uplighting.  The chairs were dressed in white spandex covers and royal blue sashes.  The cake table was dressed in a gold sequin cloth and framed with a backdrop in white sheer and blue uplighting.  The couple wanted a selfie station, so we added a backdrop with black and gold sequin drapes.  Ceiling decor with large chandelier finished off the decor for the room.

Ashley and Steve, All Saints Parish Hall

The theme of Ashley and Steve's wedding was Disney related.  Ashley showed me a picture of a mickey head centerpiece that she loved and we set to recreate it using her colours.  We created 3 flower pomanders, 2 smaller and positioned them into a mickey head, and sat them all atop a vase.  The tables were dressed in white cloths and silver sequin table runners added bling to the minimal table decor.  The ceiling was draped in 4 arm sheer drapery with an extra large chandelier.  We added a backdrop behind the extra large head table, with fuchsia uplighting.  A silver sequin cloth covered the cake table with a partial backdrop behind it.  All signs used were disney related.

Stephen and Megan, The Capital Hotel

Stephen and Megan picked a beautiful space for their reception, The Capital Hotel is a modern, versatile space that showcases any type of decor.  The couple decided to DIY several aspects of the decor, including providing their own chair covers and centerpieces.  The bridesmaids wore turquoise shoes so we picked up that colour in the chair sashes for the head table and the lighting in the head table backdrop.  The head table was dressed in white, with burlap table runners and accented on the front with sheer and lace.  Crystal curtains were added to the sheer in the backdrop to add that touch of bling.  The guest tables were dressed in white, with burlap table runners and lace inserts and wooden table numbers were used to define the tables.  Rose gold tablecloths covered the gift and guest book table and cookie/treats table.

Marc and Sarah, Bungalow in Bowring Park

Marc and Sarah said I Do in a late afternoon ceremony on a beautiful sunny summer day!  The theme for the day was rustic elegance!  We incorporated earthy elements of wood slabs, pine cones and burlap against the elegant overlays of sparkle!  The Bungalow in Bowring Park is a lovely venue to fit this theme, opening the space into the green belt with the couple's ceremony happening outside in front of the stunning willow tree.

The couple opted for a cocktail style reception with a combination of banquet and cocktail tables.  The banquet tables were dressed in white cloths topped with a burlap table runner with lace insert.  Centerpieces of blush roses, babies breath and pine cones were placed in a mason jar and then set atop a wood slab.  Smaller mason jars tied with twine were used as candle holders.   The chairs were covered in white spandex chair covers and tied with blush satin sashes.  The cocktail tables were dressed in rose gold sequin cloths and a more simple centerpiece of a milk bottle tied with a navy ribbon and filled with babies breath with candles placed next to it.  A sweetheart table was set in front of the fireplace and covered in a champagne sequin cloth.  Wooden signs were used throughout on the gift, guestbook and cake tables.  The table for the trio of cakes was dressed in rose gold sequins and placed in the alcove in the bar area.  We added a blush satin table runner to the guest book table, along with a burlap flag Love banner, a bird cage and the couple's guest book and favour box.  Blush uplighting added to the glow in the room as the evening went on.

Brokering Wishes, A Make a Wish Foundation Fundraiser

I was honored to provide my services to such a worthy cause and along with the committee I think we created an elegant atmosphere for a successful night!

The CLB Armoury held the event and provided black drapery along their walls.  I added blue uplighting to add a lovely warm glow to the room once the lights were dimmed.  Tables were dressed in a white tablecloth, gold table runner and one of two centerpieces.  Centerpiece number 1 consisted of 2 gold wine bottles, one matt the other sparkly, an arrangement of hydrangea and roses in a gold mercury vase and a small fishbowl vase with floating candle.  Centerpiece number 2 consisted of an arrangement of cylinder vases of varying sizes, with floating candles, surrounded by hydrangea.  The chairs were dressed in white spandex chair covers and a royal blue chair sash, tied on the side.  Gold sequin and royal blue tablecloths highlighted the silent auction, ticket and welcome tables.

MUN School of Pharmacy Graduation Gala

The Pharmacy Graduation Gala was held at the Bella Vista on Torbay Road, a great space for such an event with lots of space to mingle and celebrate for the new grads.

Decor was minimal with black and gold being the colours of choice.  The tables were dressed in floor length tablecloths, courtesy of the Bella Vista and we added a black table runner to each table.  With 33 tables to work with, we decided on 2 centerpieces to add some variety to the tables.  Centerpiece number 1 consisted of a trio of cube vases of varying sizes, filled with gold gems, water and a floating candle.  Centerpiece number 2 consisted of a trio of items as well, a gold wine bottle, cylinder vase with gold gems, water and a floating candle and a small arrangement of white hydrangea in a smaller vase.  Table numbers were displayed in black frames and were made to match the gold and black decor.  The candy buffet table as well as a special table on the stage were dressed in gold sequin tablecloths.  The podium was covered to tie it into the decor.

The Garden Room or Atrium in the Sheraton Hotel is a beautiful space any time of the year, but especially when the snow is flying outside, it whisks you away to think of warmer times.  This intimate wedding was held on a blustery day and sets a beautiful backdrop in its own right and a deep contrast to the lush greenery inside.  White tablecloths with gold table runners and white spandex chair covers with gold sashes were used.  The centerpieces were made from cylinder vases with floating candles and accented with fresh cedar and pine cones.  The bride's bouquet was lovely, we put it together with hydrangea, roses, rose hips, cedar and pine cones and doubled as the centerpiece for the head table.

Remax Christmas Party

The stage area with podium was backed by a backdrop with red uplighting and 4 spandex "trees" with gift boxes.  The hotel provided white table linens and red napkins and we finished the tables with silver sequin table runners.  Centerpieces were later delivered by the Flower Studio.  The chairs were dressed in white spandex chair covers and red chair sashes.

KMK Christmas Party

The main ballroom at the Sheraton Hotel was the space for this corporate Christmas party.  Beautiful floral centerpieces were provided by the Flower Studio and lighting provided by Eastern Audio.  We provided red table runners for the tables, accent candles and white chair covers with red chair sashes.  The decor was simple but completely transformed the space.

Stephanie and Curtis

The downstairs room at the Knights of Columbus was the setting for this reception and dance.  Purple uplighting was used to highlight the backdrops and it added a lovely glow throughout the evening.  The bride made her own centerpieces of wood slabs, mason jars and flowers.  Wooden table numbers and signs were added on the banquet, cake and guest book tables.  The focal point was on the head table backdrop, which stretched the entire length of the large head table, adding crystal curtains and lots of lovely drapery to highlight the head table.  Burlap table runners were used on the tables and gold glitter bottles accented the head table decor, white spandex chair covers and eggplant sashes covered the chairs.  We also created a custom monogram gobo for the dance floor.

Daniel and Laura

In talking with this couple, we discovered that the bride loved some bird placecards she had seen as she browsed online.  It was too late to order them in so we recreated them and added the place cards to her decor.  We also custom made the 'Love" cake topper that sat atop her beautiful cake.  We added a couple of small bird cages to link the placecards to the decor.  White spandex chair covers with eggplant sashes covered the chairs, silver sequin table runners with an eggplant sash down the center were on the tables.  The centerpieces added a lovely glow with floating candles in cylinder vases and purple uplighting was used around the room to add a lovely glow.  The backdrop behind the head table was dressed with sheer white voille and crystal curtains.  A custom dance floor gobo of 2 love birds was shone on the floor when the dance began.

Stacey and Rhys

Warm rich colours of fall were highlighted in this couple's choice of wedding decor.  The groom's mother made the floral arrangements for the centerpieces and were the main pop of colour on the tables, along with the eggplant napkins.  We added the birch wood slab and mason jars with floating candles, as well as the table numbers.  Burlap table runners were added to the tables, champagne organza sashes on the white spandex chair covers.  Edison bulb string lights and warm white uplighting added a beautiful glow to the room.

Nikita and Josh

We have decorated at the Yellow Belly many times and it always amazes me that no matter the style of decor you choose, it is always the perfect backdrop.  We used black linens for both the guest and head tables, skirting the head table in a satin skirting, with white napkins placed in contrast.  Apple red table runners and chair sashes brought a pop of colour to the table and chairs.  The floating candles in the centerpieces added a warm glow to the tables as the evening went on.  String lighting with lanterns were placed above the dance floor area.  White uplighting was used against the natural brick, creating a lot of interest behind the head table without hiding that stunning wall.

Glenn and Suchen

The Atrium or Garden Room at the Sheraton Hotel is such a beautiful space for any event but especially a wedding that brought travellers from all over the world together to celebrate.  We created the bouquets and boutinneers with various greenery, thistle and beautiful calla lilies which were a favorite of the bride's.  Ivory stripe linens dressed the tables with a birch slab in the center to hold the centerpieces, which where created with ivory hydrangea in rustic containers, mason jars with floating candles and Newfoundland beach rocks sat next to table numbers that represented the couple's travels.  Each table was numbered with a Gate and a destination the couple had visited together.  The bride made airplane place cards for her guests.  We added entrance decor to the Battery/Avalon rooms where the dance took place and draped the stair railings to soften the look.

Jennifer and Todd

The Atrium or Garden Room at the Sheraton Hotel is such a beautiful space for any event but especially a wedding.  The ceremony and reception were held in the same space, with the dance happening in the Avalon/Battery rooms which we decorated as well.  The ceremony was simple in terms of decor, using white spandex chair covers with champagne chair sashes, aisle runner and rose topiaries that we hung in the bigger trees in the space.  For the reception, the couple opted for a sweetheart table, along with their daughter, which we dressed in a sequin champagne tablecloth.  The other tables had white tablecloths with burlap table runners, and rustic centerpieces - wooden slabs with mason jars, one of which contained a fresh flower arrangement and the rest floating candles.  In the Avalon/Battery rooms we decorated the chairs the same way with mason jars and floating candles.  String lights were hung over the dance floor.  White uplighting was used to accent the large trees.

Jessica and Steven

The couple had their ceremony and reception at the Fluvarium, both with the fireplace as a beautiful backdrop.  The decor was simple but beautiful and consisted of string lights on the ceiling, royal blue table runners, charcoal chair sashes, with centerpieces of fish bowl vases with a bronze votive and pearls.  We added blue uplighting and simple fireplace decor to finish off the decor in the room.

Jennifer and John

The couple held their ceremony and reception at Lester's Farm Chalet, the ceremony was set outside with chairs rented from a local company which we decorated with champagne sashes.  Burlap panels were used on the pre-existing archway and rustic elements added as ceremony decor.  Inside, the chalet was set for reception with white tablecloths, burlap and lace table runners, wood slab centerpieces with twine covered wine bottles, mason jars with floating candles and creamy white hydrangea.  A backdrop was added behind the head table to complete the bride's vision of the space.

Adam and Kimberly

The Holiday Inn is always a lovely space for a wedding, the ballroom is large and any style of decor would suit it.  The couple wanted eggplant with silver accents and the bride created the centerpieces on her own, using eggplant sparkle to transform ordinary fish bowls into something special.   She had accents of purple and blue hydrangea and I added creamy white hydrangea, a square mirror, votive candles and the table number to complete her centerpiece idea.   Silver sequin table runners were added to bling it up even more.  We did eggplant sashes to the chairs, tied in a bow with a blue/purple orchild in the center for extra interest.  Blue and purple uplighting completed the look and gave the room a very warm glow.
